CA International Receives Official Accreditation in Georgia

On September 27, 2016 Conformity Assessment International (CAI), a third party inspection body received its official accreditation in Georgia by LEPL Georgian Accreditation Center (GAC).

 

Accreditation covers a wide and unprecedented scope of activities including inspection in such areas as oil repositories; oil pipelines; natural gas pipelines; natural gas compressor stations; fueling stations using liquid carbohydrate gasses; liquid oxygen production facilities; commercial nitrogen refrigeration installations; cranes; escalators: initial and periodic inspections; amusement parks; pressure vessels; boilers; funicular; cable cars: initial and periodic inspections; elevators: initial and periodic inspections in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17020.

CA International will be the first private inspection body of its kind in Georgia to be delegated the responsibilities of nationwide inspection services by the LEPL Technical and Construction Supervisory Agency, in accordance with the Georgian Law on Product Safety and Free Movement.

Competitive inclusion of qualified private conformity assessment bodies into this process under government oversight will ensure better quality as well as responsiveness in assessing conformity of various types of facilities against corresponding standards due to increased resources on the inspection market.
